Batman X Reader :Silence: Part 2

It had been almost three years since the incident, and despite Bruce's insistance you had left Gotham and went under the radar. So far under the radar that even the Batman didn't come to visit, then again even if he had you were too focused on training to notice.

It's good to be back.' You thought to yourself as you let out a soft sigh. You had changed quite a bit in the three years you've been gone. 'I wonder if Bruce would still recognize me?' You thought as your feet took you to your old place of employment, you had wanted to see what everyone was up to.

"As I live and breathe. It's good to see you again (F/n)." Your friend Clark greeted as he pulled you into a hug. You happily returned the hug then pushed away.

"I thought you were in Smallville?" You signed making sure he was paying attention. Then it occured to you that he might not know sign so you pulled out your phone and repeated your question.

"I normally am, but I had an assignment here in Gotham." He pulled you into a hug again. "Have you told Bruce yet?" He whispered, you shook your head no and pulled away with a smile.

"I will later, right now I wanted to see the others first." Your phone relayed the message as you walked off to your old desk. You greeted the others and got a warm welcome from all. You headed off with a smile, but by yourself. As you were walking you heard some trouble up ahead. A smile came to your face. 'Time to put my training to use.' You thought as you darted to an alley and quickly changed into your slightly armored cat suit with a green Sparrow on the back just under the shoulder blades, the rest of the suit was black just like the Batman's. You ran off leaving your bag safetly stashed where no one would find it. You pulled your hair into a high pony and put on the domino mask to complete your outfit. By the time you had gotten to the trouble you realized that it was the Joker and his goons again causing you to freeze up slightly. 'I train for who knows how long and just seeing the creep again strikes me with fear?' You asked yourself slightly angry at the fact. As you were about to go in and put a stop to the Jokers antics someone beat you to it.

"That's far enough Joker." A male voice said as he came out of the shadows. The young male wore a red ang green outfit with a yellow cape.

"The boy blunder. Where is your bat guardian. Isn't it a little late for you to be out?" Joker stated as he stalked his way over to the boy. You looked around as well and didn't see Batman either. 'Must be still hiding, or dealing with some of the goons.' You thought to yourself. The Joker had gotten really close to the boy by now.

"Wouldn't you like to know. He'll be here." The boy said standing his ground.

"Not soon enough." Joker said as he raised his cane. You had thrown one of your saiis, succesfully knocking the cane out of his hands and trapped it to the ground. You jumped out of your hiding spot and stood your ground behind the boy. You could tell by the slight shift in his stance that he wanted to see who appeared, but refrained from doing so. "So the bat has two side kicks? Now this is unfair."

"I'm his only side kick." The boy protested. You held your other saii up and jumped over the boy and kicked the Joker down. You landed with one knee on his chest and the saii aimed at his throat.

"Let me guess, you think you can take me on?" He asked as he looked you over. Your stoic face turned into a toothy grin as you looked him over as well. You didn't respond, how could you when he took your voice all those years ago.

"She doesn't have to Joker." The new voice caused Joker to falter slightly, the Batman had arrived. You took a ribbon out from somewhere hidden on your person and tied his hands together. You got off the Joker and went over to his cane and pulled your saii out of the ground. The Batman and Robin, as you learned, took the Joker away and told you to stay put. You didn't have anything better to do, since it was the Batman you were searching for.

"I don't like it Batman. She hasn't said a word the entire time." Robin said as he looked you over. You sitting quietly in a chair, while Batman looked at your saiis.

"She'll talk when she needs to." He responded setting the saii down and walking over to you.

'I need a phone.' You signed hoping that someone understood.

"You're mute?" Batman asked and you nodded. Just then a visitor came into the Batcave. "You aren't needed at the moment Superman." Batman stated without turning around.

"I see you found Silent Sparrow." Superman stated sending a wink in your direction. You waved with a small smile confusing Batman and the boy wonder.

"Silent Sparrow?" Robin asked as he looked between Superman and you.

"Yeah, a friend of mine. And yours as well." He said looking to Batman. You smiled at his confusion. You then took off your mask, not that it really hid much of your face. Batman turned around and stared, frozen on the spot. Not many things can freeze the Batman in shock.

'Hello Bruce' You mouthed the words and Superman brought you your bag and you pulled out your phone. "It's been a while." You had your phone relay the message.

"Too long." He said as he pulled you into a slight hug.

"Not to break up the reunion, but who is she?" Robin asked with his arms folded. You smirked and Bruce pushed you away slightly.

"She is a friend, who had been previously attacked by the Joker. She can't talk because of it. And unfortunately she has figured out who most of the League is but because of her lack of speach it is alright if she knows." Batman said as he took his cowl off. "You are staying right?" He asked as he turned to you.

"For as long as you like." You had your phone relay.

"Let's get you to your room then." He said as he led everyone out of the cave. After dinner and everyone had changed Clark went home you were led to your room by Bruce. Richard went off to his own room, still highly confused about who you were.  After your door was shut Bruce pulled you into a hug. "I'm glad you're back."

"Me too." You said quietly and a bit gravelly, as if you hadn't used your voice in a long time. Bruce kissed your cheek and held you at arms length. A rare smile came to his face as he heard you speak.

"Your voice is back."
