Bruce x Child!Reader :Oneshot: Green

Bruce sighed and rubbed his temple. After a moment he looked at the clock.7:30. Tony left a few hours ago like he should have, but didn't. Then he remembered the last time Tony was alone with (F/n), alone, he was almost finished making her a suit of her own. He got up quickly and left the lab. As he closed the door he looked at the floor confused. There was a trail of little green footprints that led to the door then back to the main room. He crouched down to examine the substance. "Paint?" He wondered aloud as he followed the path of the footsteps. He came to the main room, and it was a sight to see. There was green paint everywhere. Big and small footprints were strewn about the floor while there were smudges of paint all over the walls and furniture,  but that isn't what Bruce was looking at. He was looking at the five adults that were scattered about the room. Tony was lying on his back, by the bar, mostly covered in green paint. Thor and Clint were on different couches looking slightly beat. Clints arms and legs were covered with paint and Thor had some paint in his hair. Natasha was laying on her side and looked like she took an overly dramatic fall, only patches of her legs were covered in green paint. And lastly Steve, he was the only one standing and was almost as covered as Tony with paint. He seemed to be surveying the damage like Bruce was, only his look  seemed a bit more on the worried side. Then out of nowhere (F/n) runs into the room. She was completely covered, dripping with green paint, hair, clothes, everything. She jumped up and Steve caught her and fell back with mock defeat.

"I got you!" (F/n) said in her sweet little voice. Bruce couldn't decide whether to smile or be shocked by this. (F/n) giggled and put her hands on Steve's cheeks and looked at him concerned. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" Steve shook his head no and noticed Bruce was in the room.

"(F/n), don't look now, but I think we have a guest that hasn't got a spot of green." Her smile widened and she looked up at Bruce. She got off Steve and ran over to him jumping up into his open arms. She was pulled into a tight hug. She leaned back a little.

"Daddy look!" She held her small hands in front of his face. "I turned green like you." Her smile was hard to resist but something inside dropped ever so slightly.

"That's wonderful sweetheart." He said slowly as he looked around the room. All the other adults were looking at the two of them. "So what happened to the team?" He asked and her smile turned sheepish.

"We were playing tag, and I was it." She offered as the team started to get up.

"SHE VANQUISHED US ALL, BROTHER BRUCE!" Thor stated and caused (F/n) to giggle.

"Do you think that there's still time for another game?" Bruce asked looking at (F/n). Her face lit up like it was Christmas morning.

"And I'll be green like you Daddy?" (F/n) asked and Bruce smiled and noticed the worried looks of all the avengers.

"No." Her face fell to the saddest look he's ever seen. He lifted his hand to her cheek and wiped some of the paint off with his thumb and proceeded to put it on his cheek. "I think I'll be green like you (F/n)." Her face lit up brighter than before and she wiggled out of his grasp. She then ran out of the room leaving behind little green footprints. "This was Tony's idea, wasn't it?" Bruce asked as all his team mates, except for Tony, nodded. "You're going down." (F/n) came running back in with a can of green paint and splashed it all over Bruce's torso.
